Under the direction of the Construction Manager the Superintendent will be responsible for the oversight of centralized project(s) from the kick-off to completion stages of the project lifecycle. Candidates must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and interact professionally with owners, clients and consultants while safely and successfully directing individual project assets, sub-contractors and other construction related personnel to execute project work plans in accordance with the construction documents, schedule and budget. The successful candidate will be comfortable working long hours in remote locations and is expected to take on full project accountability.


  • Responsible for the operational performance of multiple concurrent projects within a specific site.
  • Responsible for the execution of detailed project work plans and schedules which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete projects.
  • Liaise with Construction Manager to adjust project work plans as appropriate to account for upset conditions and protect project profit margins.
  • Oversees project teams ensuring the appropriate assignment and scheduling of divisional assets (staff and equipment).
  • Promote and embrace a safety-first work culture.
  • Lead, coach and inspire a team first attitude with operations personnel.
  • Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control.
  • Trains, supervises, motivates and evaluates the performance of project personnel. Schedules and coordinates required employee training and orientation.
  • Consistently monitors and reviews the quality of completed works to ensure that QA/QC are maintained.
  • Ensures that all relevant and appropriate safety regulations and employment laws, rules and regulations as well as Arrowhead processes are followed when supervising staff i.e. all safety procedures, onboarding, supervising, scheduling and discipline.
  • Handling and assisting with other matters may be requested by the Construction Manager.

You Possess

  • Minimum 3 years of proven and effective project and supervisory experience within the Construction Industry.
  • Preference given to those with prior Superintendent experience.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent, preference will be given to those with Post-Secondary Education and or experience working in a related field.
  • Mine Supervisor ticket is an asset.
  • PMP designation or equivalent considered an asset.
  • HCSS Heavy Job experience is an asset.
  • Strong safety management mindset and experience.
  • Computer proficiency – Microsoft Excel, Google and learning custom applications.
  • High degree of motivation, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
