Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00am-6:00pm; OT as needed

Responsibilities

As Loader Operator, you will operate a front-end loader loading copper concentrate into containers and then load containers onto B train container frames.

  • Loading containers with copper concentrate  
  • Driving tractor and B trains trailers within New Afton mines property
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.  
  • Shunt B train trailers 
  • Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements.  
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew.  
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.  

You Possess

  • Minimum 2 years of previous loader operator experience is required
  • A positive team attitude
  • A strong safety mindset
  • Class one drivers license
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written
  • Strong attention to detail
