The Business Systems Analyst's primary role is to understand the functionality of assigned system applications, the data, and their related business processes. This role also provides support to users about how to use the various aspects of the system applications efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives. The Analyst proactively identifies and resolves any system issues and provides timely resolution for the business users.


Major responsibilities include:

  • Maintain applications and its related SQL data, as required, to ensure continuity of the business process supported by the applications.  
  • Understand, in depth, the business processes supported by the applications.  
  • Provide technical support to users upon receiving assigned incident or service requests related to the applications.  
  • Determine resolution to reported issues or bugs, and provide work-arounds to a user, if available, to ensure user down-time is minimal.  
  • Document all pertinent information as to the nature of user reported issues, their resolution or proactive actions taken in a knowledge-based article or Service Desk request.  
  • Ensure the applications’ production environment up-time is compatible with the established application SLA.  
  • Periodically evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends to prevent future problems.  
  • Application responsibility to be determined based on IT Roles and Responsibilities document.  
  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols, and established metrics.  
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

You Possess

  • Degree in Computing Sciences, certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong Microsoft SQL database knowledge and/or certification required.
  • ITIL V2 or V3 basic knowledge for Service Delivery preferred.
  • Excellent and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills in a diverse working environment.
  • Strong work ethic, time management, and job prioritization skills.
  • Strong safety mindset, especially when visiting branch office locations.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Problem solving abilities.
