Approximately 30 employees work out of this location including our Executive, General & Regional Managers, Directors, Support Services and our IT Team. We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team!

The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing internal and external marketing and communications plans consistent with Arrow’s brand strategy. Working with the General Manager Marketing and with input from all Arrow groups and businesses, this person will design, develop and implement a variety of marketing and communications strategies and programs and evaluate and improve on areas including; website design and effectiveness, social media structuring, oversight and optimization, print and digital media requests and requirements, trade show and presentation booths and associated materials, proposal writing, editing and design, multi-media and other areas as required. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Specialist is a Graphic Designer.


Major Resonsibilities:

  • Develop and manage online marketing strategies and campaigns based on our brand strategy to drive traffic and potential employees/clients to our websites and social media pages.
  • Develop and maintain day-to-day intranet, internet and social media content (Facebook, LinkedIN, Twitter and other relevant sites).
  • Develop on line campaigns to drive a ‘call to action’ i.e. sales, awareness and employee recruitment campaigns.
  • Monitor online activity to recommend and execute SEO and SEM activities.
  • Follow online marketing trends, new social media sites/platforms and make recommendations.
  • Manage all aspects of Tradeshow media including the design and logistics of the tradeshow booth and materials, as well as, the design and creation of marketing material including brochures and booth give-a-ways.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of brand programs to support brand building initiatives/innovation/corporate promotions.
  • Liase with Arrow division locations and other Arrow departments to ensure corporate branding, image and message is consistent.
  • Provide guidance to ensure coordination and communication of messages/news to both internal and external audiences.
  • Serve as senior editor and oversee the development, implementation and ongoing content and design management of Arrow documentation, print media (brochures, calendars, etc..) and internet sites.
  • Take ownership of and maintain gatekeeper status of the Home Page and the “Corporate” site in Arrownet.
  • Create, maintain and manage digital media/corporate image library.
  • Edit, organize, type, proof read and design Corporate Proposals.
  • Draft, design, proofread, copy and bind Customer Reviews and Proposals.
  • Oversee the writing, imagery, design and distribution of Arrow’s quarterly newsletter ‘arrowlife’.
  • Coordination (ordering and dissemination) of printed material such as Arrow/NutriGrow/Streamline forms, Business Cards, stationary, Arrow Calendars etc…
  • Other duties as assigned.

You Possess

  • Relevant degree, diploma, or post-secondary education.
  • 3-5 years of successful experience developing, implementing and managing in the area of marketing and communications.
  • Impeccable written (including spelling and grammar) and spoken communication.
  • Exceptional proofreading and editing abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant web-based technologies.
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) tools and other online software (i.e. Survs, Survey Monkey etc..) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of design software (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Quick to understand business need and call to action requirements.
  • Strong ability and proclivity towards creativity, design and effective use of imagery.
  • Familiarity with SEO, keyword research and Google analytics.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time.
  • Ability to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly to gain commitment.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Effective managerial skills, including delegation.
