Responsibilities

  • Prepare working papers and reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statements, reporting and analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of the year-end financial audit and coordination of the audit process
  • Provide accounting support and oversight to Branch operations
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year close processes
  • Assist with the preparation of the year end corporate tax returns and accruals
  • Assist with treasury management including bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow
  • Assist in the management and support of the annual budgeting process
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the operations
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller

 

You Possess

Education Required:

  • Fully chartered accountant (CPA or ACA)
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years post CPA or ACA qualified experience
  • Minimum 3 years Big 4 experience (EY, KPMG, PWC or Deloitte)
  • Full Cycle accounting experience
  • 5 years of experience in a finance environment
  • Experienced in both ASPE and IFRS including IFRS 16
  • Good knowledge of accounting systems, budgets and internal controls.
  • Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and policies
  • Experience with Epicor an asset.

Other requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions.
  • Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial reports.
  • Advanced proficiency with relevant accounting software, spreadsheet programs (excel/google sheets), Google Drive, GMail and ability to quickly learn new computer applications i.e. Arrow custom applications
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of data entry accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
