Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulations, participate in identifying hazards. 
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting. 
  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics 
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and welding – fabricating process specifications. 
  • Operate welding equipment and manual flame-cutting equipment. 
  • Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits. 
  • Assist in development of repair estimates. 
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues. 
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in welding compliance, practices and techniques  
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. 
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. 
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize daily work. 
  • Accurate completion of work orders and time cards. 
  • May be asked to cross train on other/all functions at facility .
  • Other assigned work as required. 

You Possess

  • Interprovincial Red Seal or Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) tickets.  “A” ticket preferred, minimum “C” ticket
  • Proven experience, 5 years preferred
  • All position welding
  • Proven abilities with MIG, TIG and ARC processes
  • Experience with both steel and Aluminum materials
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Shows strong initiative and is a self-starter
  • Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Computer literate
  • Must speak, read, and write in English
  • Must pass physical to ensure bonafide job requirements can be fulfilled
