Arrow Reload is looking for an for a Shunt Truck Driver to join us and become part of our Arrow team. Our Edmonton Reload specializes in transferring product from rail to truck and from truck to rail using overhead crane and forklift.  We service key customers in the Edmonton region and are we leaders in what we do!

Responsibilities

As Shunt Truck Driver, you will:

  • Move trailers around yard 
  • Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations, participate in identifying hazards
  • Ability to maneuver park, back and dock trailers
  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics
  • Establish or adjust daily tasks/schedules to meet changing order priorities
  • Keep yard and equipment neat and organized
  • May be asked to travel to other transload terminals to assist if necessary
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard operations
  • Ability to understand cross training on all functions at facility
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

You Possess

  • A Class 1 License is not required for this role
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Quality oriented
  • Needs to be responsible, accountable and dependable
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Previous experience is not necessary
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Can carry at least 50 lbs and swing a 10 lbs sledge hammer
  • Good physical condition
  • Experience working with computers is an asset
