Under the direction of the Mining Operations Supervisor, the Loader/Rock Truck Operator will be responsible for performing heavy-duty tasks on a mine site, including excavation, earthworks, and site preparation. The loader operator will work in rough, uneven terrain and confined spaces, while being exposed to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Safety will be a primary focus, as the loader operator works in proximity to heavy machinery, other workers, and potential hazards associated with mining operations.

• Operate loaders/rock trucks to move, load, and transport materials such as dirt, gravel, sand, rocks, or construction debris.

• Perform logged inspections, routine maintenance, and clearing away debris (tracks, in cab, under screener) on equipment daily: electronically 

• Assist with road prep, snow removal, sanding, and watering to ensure the facility is accessible and maintained through the season 

• Regular manual labour to clean and maintain the facility and equipment 

• Provide internal and external customer service excellence 

• Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements 

• Provide feedback to employer on working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew 

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager 

• Previous relevant experience operating loaders

• Screener and grader experience is an asset 

• Ability to pass pre-employment testing 

• Experience with routine maintenance operations  

• Ability to lift 50lbs 

• Mechanically inclined 

• Experience working with computers is an asset 

• Level 1 First Aid 

• Must have reliable transportation 

• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment as a member of a team 

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions 

• Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
