Under the direction of the Mining Operations Supervisor, the Rock Truck/Loader Operator will be responsible for performing heavy-duty tasks on a mine site, including excavation, earthworks, and site preparation. The rock truck/loader operator will work in rough, uneven terrain and confined spaces, while being exposed to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Safety will be a primary focus, as the rock truck/loader operator works in proximity to heavy machinery, other workers, and potential hazards associated with mining operations.

• Transport materials (e.g., rocks, gravel, sand) to and from work sites.

• Perform logged inspections, routine maintenance, and clearing away debris (tracks, in cab, under screener) on equipment daily: electronically 

• Assist with road prep, snow removal, sanding, and watering to ensure the facility is accessible and maintained through the season 

• Regular manual labour to clean and maintain the facility and equipment 

• Provide internal and external customer service excellence 

• Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements 

• Provide feedback to employer on working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew 

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager 

• Previous relevant experience operating rock trucks

• Screener and grader experience is an asset 

• Ability to pass pre-employment testing 

• Experience with routine maintenance operations  

• Ability to lift 50lbs 

• Mechanically inclined 

• Experience working with computers is an asset 

• Level 1 First Aid 

• Must have reliable transportation 

• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment as a member of a team 

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions 

• Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
