Arrow Marine Services has been one of Vancouver’s most trusted shipyard and boat service repair facilities. We are conveniently located at the mouth of the Fraser River in Richmond, BC, which makes us easily accessible by land or water. We have over 3 acres of shipyard space and covered facilities that allow us to provide year-round service to our customers. We specialize in high-quality services for fishing vessels, tugboats, barges, custom float structures and other marine equipment.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager is the primary point-person overseeing the scope, implementation and completion of work on assigned vessels in the Arrow Marine yard. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering marine projects on time, within budget, and in accordance to the agreed scope and specification.


To achieve these important goals, the Project Manager will define project requirements and scope, and ensure appropriate project resources are acquired as needed. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders and upward reporting are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each project’s lifecycle.


The Project Manager reports to the Senior Project Manager and will be working with all levels of the Arrow Marine Services Ltd. 

 

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of a marine project portfolio, ranging from strategic planning initiatives to tactical activities.
  • Establish a Project Plan for each approved project, defining the projects goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage project activities throughout its lifecycle including, with the assistance of the Foreman and Senior Project Manager, the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via formal and informal communication plans.
  • Ensure Division Management is kept up to date on the progress of all Project
  • Adhere to established methodologies for project management.
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into project plans.
  • Produce regular reports (status, escalations, etc.) and quotes on the progress of projects; deliver/ present these reports during regular stakeholder meetings.
  • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget.
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
  • Create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Conduct project post mortems in order to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations based on findings.
  • Record and report on First Aid and Safety Incidents and file required Safety Documentation
  • Attend Josh Committee Meetings
  • Coordinate Employee Training and Maintain Training Records
  • Provide Stores/Receiving coverage as needed
  • Assist with Inventory counts as needed.
  • As this Division has a small number of staff, it is expected that each staff member will take on other duties as necessary

You Possess

  • Minimum 5 + years experience in the marine or maritime industry or prior navy/military experience
  • Extensive experience with local customers (fishing/commercial/pleasure vessel) and the local marine industry
  • Strong safety management mindset and experience
  • Flexibility to travel to various locations in correlation with project requirements
  • Excellent problem solving capability
