Responsibilities

As an Arrow Marine Welder, you will be responsible for the welding service, maintenance and repair of small to large commercial marine vessels.

 

Major Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulations, participate in identifying hazards.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and welding process specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment and manual flame-cutting equipment.
  • Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits.
  • Assist in development of repair estimates.
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in welding compliance, practices and techniques
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize daily work.
  • Accurate completion of work orders and time cards.
  • May be asked to cross train on other/all functions at facility
  • Other assigned work as required.

 

You Possess

  • Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) tickets (minimum C ticket).
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ of relevant experience required.
  • Proven All Position Welding abilities in Steel and Aluminum (CSA Standard W47.2) & MIG (GMAW) Processes.
  • Experience in Flux Core (FCAW) & Stick (SMAW) All Position Welding Processes will be considered an asset.
  • Fabrication experience will be considered as asset.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written in English.

  • Must pass physical to ensure bonafide job requirements can be fulfilled.
