As a professional driver working for Arrow Transportation Systems Inc based in Kamloops, working for the Chilliwack Mining Branch you will have the opportunity to haul B train trailers and operate various equipment from tandem to tri drive trucks. This role primarily haul Copper ore from the Newgold Mine in Kamloops and will operatre front end loaders to pre-load containers. Major Responsibilities
Oversee cargo handling and secure loads in accordance with safe work practices, applicable legislation, and company rules, protocols, and performance metrics.
Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment to ensure safety, roadworthiness, and regulatory compliance.
Safely maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading positions, following loading crew signals and ensuring proper placement of vehicles and equipment.
Operate front-end loaders to load product into pre-load containers and verify that all loading equipment is in safe working order.
Perform periodic inspections during loading, transport, and delivery to ensure loads are secure, protected from the elements, and tarped when required.
Assist with loading and unloading activities and ensure debris resulting from these activities is cleaned up.
Comply with all applicable legislation, including hours of service, load securement, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weight and dimension requirements.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, damage, and safety hazards encountered at load, unload, yard, or shop locations to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation and logs, including bills of lading, hours of work, and vehicle service and repair records, in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
Operate onboard and communication equipment (e.g., truck cab computers, CB radios, telephones) to exchange information with supervisors, dispatch, and other drivers.
Provide feedback to supervisors or dispatch regarding customer issues, mechanical concerns, or delivery challenges.
Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, co-workers, and the public at all times.
Train others as required.
