Truck Driver - Fibre Haul - Truck on Highway

Responsibilities

As an Arrow driver, you will haul wood fibre locally in B-train trailers, primarily transporting wood chips, as well as sawdust and hog fuel. Travel will occur on various Interior BC highways, including Hwy 1 (Coquihalla), Hwy 5, and Hwy 97.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee cargo handling, load securement, and equipment preparation in accordance with safe work practices and applicable Acts and regulations.

  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety, roadworthiness, and regulatory compliance.

  • Comply with all applicable legislation, including hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weight and dimension requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation, including bills of lading and electronic logs for hours of service and vehicle service or repair status.

  • Operate onboard and communication equipment, including truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones, to communicate with bases, supervisors, and other drivers.

  • Ensure professional and respectful interactions with customers, co-workers, and the public.

You Possess

  • A positive attitude
  • Class 1 truck driver’s license
  • Driver’s abstract with no suspensions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • At least two job references
  • B train experience is required
  • Previous winter and mountain driving experience required
