Overview

In Business since 1919 and still growing, Arrow is a leader in bulk commodity hauling, reload operations, freight management, logistics, consulting, and technology with operations throughout Canada and the U.S.

 

We are looking for an experienced Welder to join us and become part of our Arrow family in Chilliwack, BC.

 

Arrow Welders are responsible for performing skilled welding, fabrication, and repair work on trucks, trailers, and other mobile equipment in a busy shop environment. The Welder collaborates with the shop foreman and other team members to ensure all repairs and modifications are completed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the reliability and performance of the fleet.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulations, participate in identifying hazards.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics. 
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and welding process specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment and manual flame-cutting equipment.
  • Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits.
  • Assist in development of repair estimates.
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in welding compliance, practices and techniques 
  • Ensures accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize daily work.
  • Accurate completion of work orders and time cards.
  • May be asked to cross train on other/all functions at facility 
  • Other assigned work as required.

 

You Possess

  • Interprovincial Red Seal or Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) A/B/C level certification;
  • Proficient in all-position welding with demonstrated experience using MIG, TIG, and ARC processes
  • Experience with repair of commercial trailers
  • Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical to meet bona fide job requirements
  • Welding experience preferred (5+ years considered an asset)
  • Experience performing routine maintenance operations considered an asset
  • Strong safety mindset with a consistent focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Dependable, accountable, and professional with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Able to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills; adaptable and effective working under pressure
