We are looking for a General Labourer to join us and become part of our Vancouver Reload team in Surrey, BC!


Arrow's Vancouver Reload specializes in the transloading of commodities (steel, lumber, liquid bulk, dry bulk, etc..) from truck/railcar to railcar/ truck and/or containers. 
The General Labourer will assist with yard maintenance, cleaning of equipment, cutting steel banding for package securement, monitoring disposal of items and general yard clean up and may assist with railcar securement.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations, participate in identifying hazards 
  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics  
  • Establish or adjust daily tasks/schedules to meet changing order priorities 
  • Maintenance of fleet equipment, e.g. wash and paint equipment 
  • Follow maintenance testing and repairs procedures of products 
  • Keep yard and equipment neat and organized 
  • May be asked to travel to other transload terminals to assist if necessary 
  • Provide internal and external Customer Service excellence 
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew 
  • Ability to understand cross training on all functions at facility  
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager 

 

You Possess

  • Strong safety mindset with a quality‑focused approach and attention to detail
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, wind, sub‑freezing temperatures)
  • Good physical condition, including the ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and swing a 10 lb sledgehammer
  • Ability to work independently, follow a daily work schedule, and complete assigned tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience not required
  • Experience working with computers (asset)
  • Responsible, accountable, dependable, and reliable
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, team‑focused attitude
  • Flexible, with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment
